Introduction:

The NFPA 1001 Fire Fighter I course is designed to provide firefighters and emergency response personnel with the fundamental knowledge, skills, and competencies required to perform firefighting duties safely and effectively. Based on the requirements of NFPA 1001: Standard for Fire Fighter Professional Qualifications (2019 Edition), this program introduces participants to the principles of fire service operations, firefighter safety, fire behavior, structural firefighting, rescue techniques, hazardous materials awareness, and emergency incident management.

The course combines classroom instruction with practical hands-on exercises to develop the skills necessary for responding to fire emergencies and protecting lives, property, and the environment. Participants will learn to operate firefighting equipment, use personal protective equipment (PPE) and self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), conduct search and rescue operations, deploy fire hoses and ladders, perform forcible entry, and support fire suppression activities as members of a firefighting team.

Upon successful completion of the course, participants will have gained the foundational competencies expected of a Fire Fighter I and will be better prepared to perform their duties safely and professionally in accordance with internationally recognized fire service standards.
